beers

  • People drank more than 2 million beers in 2010
More than 224,546gal of beer (juuust over 2,395,157 12oz bottles) and 390,600 hot dogs were sold in World Cup stadiums in 2010. That’s slightly fewer than the grizzly bear ate when it defeated Kobayashi.

  • Fifa World Cup Draw 2014
The official draw card has been released, and I got it right here! 32 teams, 8 groups all battling for the trophy! Who do you think will win?

  • The worst game ever ended 31-0
The biggest score line in the history of World Cup qualifiers, and in the history of international soccer, was recorded on April 11, 2001, when Australia destroyed American Samoa 31-0. The Australian Archie Thompson scored 13 goals that day, the world record for goals in a single international match.

H-host-nation

  • 2014’s host also owns the most World Cup victories
The tournament has been played every four years since the inaugural tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946, when it wasn’t held because of the World War II. Only eight teams have won the tournament, with Brazil winning five; Italy claiming four; Germany three; Argentina and Uruguay two; and England, France, and Spain each winning one title apiece.

  • More people watch the World Cup than the Super Bowl
Around 715.1 million people watched the final match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. As a reference point, Super Bowl XLVIII had 167 million total worldwide viewers. Take your Super Bowl party and multiply it by 3.5. That’s how big a deal the World Cup is.
Switzerland 1954 was the first World Cup to be televised. Sixteen years later, at Mexico 1970, the World Cup was televised across the globe and instant replays were introduced.
South Africa 2010 was shown in every single country and territory on Earth, including Antarctica and the Arctic Circle, reached more than 3.2 billion in-home people – 46.4% of the world’s population — and that’s not even counting the folks at bars, restaurants, and online.

marcelo

  • One guy played one minute, but can still call himself a champion
Argentine Marcelo Trobbiani set the record for the shortest World Cup career of all time when he made his first (and last) appearance in the 89th minute of the 1986 final…which Argentina ended up winning.

  • One living legend never played a minute at the World Cup
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs never played in the FIFA World Cup, despite a 24-year pro career that included 13 league titles and two UEFA Champions League victories. But he does have pretty terrific stubble, and apparently enjoys shagging his brother’s wife.

  • The single tournament scoring record is 13 goals
The Moroccan-born Just Fontaine scored the most-ever goals in a World Cup when he put 13 bulges in the back of the ol’ onion bag in six games for France in 1958.  Also, his name is Just Fontaine, and that’s incredible in itself!

FIFA Executive Committee Meeting

  • There have been two World Cup trophies.
The Coupe Jules Rimet, which was used from 1930 to 1970, and, now, the simply named FIFA World Cup Trophy. The current version weighs just under 14lbs, of which 11 pounds is pure 18-karat gold. Let’s hope nobody treats any of them like OJ’s Heisman.

FBL-ASIA-KOR-BRA

  • Coaches range in age from 27 to 71
At 71 years young, Otto Rehhagel became the oldest man to coach at the World Cup when he led Greece at South Africa 2010. The youngest coach was Argentina’s Juan Jose Tramutola, who was 27 years old when he managed the team in 1930.

zidane-redcard

  • 2006 saw the most red cards ever
Yellow and red cards were introduced at Mexico 1970, but no one was sent off until 1974 when Chile’s Carlos Caszely picked up the first red card in World Cup history in the 67th minute against West Germany. Plácido Galindo was the first player ever sent off in the World Cup in 1930, but the refs didn’t have their magic trump cards back then.
The record for red cards in one tournament is 28, set in 2006, with the the most famous being this one that led to a billion meme gifs. There were also 345 yellow cards that year, an average of 5.39 per match.

world cup mascot

  • The World Cup mascot is named “Fuleco” and he has his own website.
He is a Brazilian three-banded armadillo, and will be 14 years old at the time of the World Cup. It goes to show: People put way too much thought into fake animals that everyone ignores once every four years.
Fuleco’s blue shell represents Brazil’s fertility, landscape, the skies, and the water. He has said (how does a fake armadillo talk?) he enjoys “watching the latest animated films” and playing “video games on my computer whenever I can. I also like to draw and read cartoon and comic books.”

pele trophy

  • Pelé is the youngest scorer ever
At 42 years old, Roger Milla became the oldest player in World Cup history when he laced up his boots for Cameroon in 1994. He also scored in that tournament, and holds the record for the oldest player to ever score in a cup.Pelé became the youngest (of course he did) when he scored against Wales at Sweden 1958, when at 17 years and 239 days old.

bosnia

  • Bosnia-Herzegovina is the 77th country to participate
A total of 76 teams have participated in the World Cup since the first edition in 1930. This tally includes nations that either no longer exist or have undergone a transformation, such as Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union, and Czechoslovakia. Bosnia-Herzegovina will be the 77th side added to the list in 2014.

World-Cup

  • The U.S. actually had the best attendance ever
The highest total and average attendance was in 1994 USA. Suck on that, soccer haters. A total of 3,587,538 fans came out, averaging almost 69,000 soccer nuts per game. The final between Brazil and Italy at the Rose Bowl drew 94,164 people.
More than 34 million fans have attended the 772 World Cup matches played since 1930, averaging out to about 44,000 per game. Sure beats the 200 people the Miami Marlins draw on a nightly basis.

  • England’s actually not that good
1966 — the first, last, and only time England won a World Cup.

soccer stadium

  • Put two people in every seat at MetLife Stadium, and it’s still smaller than the World Cup attendance record
The record for single-game attendance was set in 1950, when a crowd of 173,850 packed into the Maracana in Brazil. The new Maracana, although Brazil’s biggest stadium, only has a capacity of 73,531. To put it in perspective: Yankee Stadium only seats 50,291, while MetLife Stadium seats 82,566.

Goal Setting Tips

articles googleplus 13pinterest 21facebook 7twitter 16                    shop-online-button-300x279  Contact-me-button-3  HomeButton

Goal-Setting-TipsAlright here’s what I want you to do for me. Get a pen and paper, and take five(5)- ten(10) minutes, to write down nine of your favorite goals, and one of your biggest goals. Now, analyze your paper carefully.
Now I’m sure half of you don’t even know how to begin to start, right?
Most of you don’t even know what goals you have for yourself, most of you could not be bothered, i suppose, and most of you still contemplating your goals. This is what I’m going to teach you right here right now, so relax, you have not failed as yet, even if you cannot even start. Goal setting after you sat down awhile and thought about it isn’t really that easy to set after all now is it? No its not! Before you can begin even jotting down goals there’s a very particular system you must use and in this system very particular steps must be followed.
” This system is called the SMART system “
” SMART is a mnemonic used by life coaches, motivators, HR departments, and educators for a system of goal identification, setting, and achievement. Every letter in SMART stands for an adjective that describes an effective way to set goals. “
  •  Specific – When setting goals, they should answer the highly specific questions of who, what, where, when, and why. Instead of the general goal, “I want to get into shape,” try for a specific goal, “I want to run my first half-marathon this year.”
  •  Measurable – In order for us to track our progress, goals should be quantifiable. “I’m going to walk more” is far more difficult to track and measure than “Everyday I’m going to walk around the track 16 times.”
  • Attainable – It is important to evaluate your situation honestly and recognize which goals are realistic, and which are a little far-fetched. Instead of, “I am going to be this nation’s Mother Teresa,” (while admirable) it might be more realistic to say, “I am going to volunteer four nights a week at my local soup kitchen.”
  • Relevant – Is this goal relevant to your life and to the “big picture” questions you have already asked yourself? Some good questions to ask yourself when figuring this out are: does it seem worthwhile? Is now the right time for this? Does this match my needs?
  • Time- related – Setting a “due date” to meet goals not only keeps you on track, but it prevents pesky daily roadblocks from getting in the way. Instead of saying “I’m going to get my college degree”, you might consider saying, “I’m going to get my B.A. in 4 years.”
After you have gone back to the SMART system mentally, you can begin jotting down your goals. Now before/while you are write always try to remember the big picture. Always try and ask yourself some important questions about what you want for your life. You don’t have to come up with some elaborate answers, the answer to this question can be as general as “I want to be happy,” or “I want to help people,” or “I want to be fit.” These general statements can help hone in on the things that really matter to you. Recognizing the things you value will guide your decision-making and keep you focused on your end goals. Think of the answers to your “big picture” questions. Ask yourself things like what do I hope to attain in 10, 15, or 20 years from now.set-goals
Then you got to break down the big picture into smaller more specific goals. Start to consider areas of your life that you either want to change or that you feel you would like to develop with time. Begin to ask yourself questions about what you’d like to achieve in each area and how you would like to approach it within a five year timeframe. In terms of your career, you may ask yourself what your ideal job is. What steps do you need to take to get that job? What are the roadblocks? Do you need a specific degree or certificate? With financial goals, you may want to consider where the money will come from. How much money you will need to live comfortably? What are the best ways to spend or invest money? Do you want a house, new car, or to begin a retirement plan? When it comes to family, do you want to have children, and if so, when? Do you want to have biological children, or are you open to be betteradoption or having step children? In thinking about romantic goals, you may consider the type of relationship you want (long-term partner, marriage, open-relationship, etc.), and how you will prioritize the time spent with a partner. What are the characteristics of a mate that make them a good fit for you? In terms of education, think about what course of study you’d like to pursue. Are you going to school to further you career? What types of courses do you need to complete for advancement at work? Are there alternate ways to enter the career you want, like apprenticeships or internships? In thinking about physical goals, consider whether changes need to be made to make you healthy. What can you do to maintain good health into old age? Think about whether there are specific physical challenges you want to meet such as a major mountain climbing expo or a marathon.
Then you got to make each goal a positive statement. Once you’ve done the brainstorming and considered how to make your goals SMART. Using positive statements is a direct way to affirm your commitment to completing your goals. If your goal is to run your first marathon in 8 career-goalsmonths, you can call friends who run for tips tonight, ask for shoe recommendations tomorrow, join a running club next week, and begin intensive training in 6 months.
After you should probably set prioritiesAt any given moment, you have a number of goals all in different states of completion. Deciding which goals are more important, or time-sensitive, than others is crucial. If you have a college interview scheduled on the same day as a training session for your big half-marathon, the interview would take precedent as it is far more time-sensitive, and probably more important.
This is a very important one. Always keep track of your progress! It won’t make any sense accomplishing goals and you don’t even remember what goals you accomplishing, now would it? Journaling is a great way to keep track of both personal and professional progress. Checking in with yourself and acknowledging the progress made towards a certain goal is key to staying motivated. Asking a friend with similar goals to buddy-up with you is a great way to keep you motivated and to make sure you hit your goal target dates. Consider pairing up with a fellow student facing the same application deadlines if you are applying for school, or another new, emerging artist if you are applying for artist residencies, fellowships, and grants.
Finally always remember to reward your accomplishments! This by far, is the most important tip to goal setting. You should always try to acknowledge when you have reached goals and allow yourself to celebrate accordingly. Take this time to assess the goal process–from inception to completion.

How To Succeed

articles googleplus 13pinterest 21facebook 7twitter 16                    shop-online-button-300x279  Contact-me-button-3  HomeButton

success newThere’s this really small idea of mine that if I tell you will unlock many bigger ideas, that will thus assist you on your quest to success. This small idea is known to drastically change persons lives forever. In a positive way that is. If I tell you this idea do you promise never to release it to anyone? This idea is so simple, I’m surprised you didn’t think of it yourself. In order to succeed one needs lots of SLEEP. Its that simple. Yes, I know, you must be saying to yourself, “That’s it thats the secret? No way, there’s got to be more to gaining success than just sleep!.” You know you are right, there are other steps to success, but right now I have just given you guys the most important first step to success. I’m sure you guys are also pondering, “why didn’t I think of that!” Don’t you worry about that now, whether you thought about it or not, is not important, what’s important is, now I’m bringing it to your attention. Now you know the first step to success. Think about it for a minute. Without sleep, you would be tired everywhere, falling all over yourself, lackadaisical, unfocused, unmotivated, with no ambition what so ever. What good are you to anyone? How will a guy like this ever be successful? Now imagine if you were to get ample sleep (your required 8hrs), now you will be feeling more energetic, ambitious, focused, ready to work, ready to tackle anything that comes your way, won’t you? Exactly and that’s the desired outcome. For you to be successful you have got to be energetic, focused, ambitious and ready to make major decisions on a daily basis. Now I bet you over looked that answer in your head once or twice, thinking sleep can always wait, but no! that is not true! Now that I have brought it to your attention I’m sure you won’t be over looking that idea any more, would you?. That goes to show you sleep is vital on the journey to success.
Success is not only attained through one step. The journey to success is never a simple one. There’s a process involved that most of you guys don’t know about. For quick success, one must be organized about it. You must first begin by working on your mentality. The way you think determines the way you act. That’s why I came up with this system. Simply get a pen and paper, or your Ipad, Iphone or mac book and write up a check list like the one below. Once you are done writing down the check list, go over what is required of you each day for the five goals you have set. That is very important. If you follow those five goals, each day, in time you will attain success guaranteed!

Important Goals

You should understand one undeniable fact that you must build your life and future on your own. Set goals, of accomplishing something important to you everyday. Write down your goals and memorize them. If that doesn’t work, forget memorizing them and try working longer and harder at achieving your goals. Maybe you will have to sacrifice something, make an effort, or probably even invest money in a new business venture, to get them achieved, but remember everything depends on you. If you don’t want to write down your goals, it’s all up to you. Just keep in mind you won’t be as successful as the other guy or you won’t get anything achieved. Goals keep you focused on what’s important to you. Achieving a goal simply means you achieved something important to you. Goals should be achieved daily for continued success. Don’t worry if your goal may seem small at the time, it should still be treated like any other goal, and be achieved much in the same way as any other. Never stop setting and achieving goals, in the end you will thank me.

Constantly, Keep Improving Yourself

Every day ask yourself what do I got to do in order to achieve better results today? Try to work more diligently.  This advice doesn’t pertain to only business owners or employees for that matter, it pertains to everyone. Work on yourself every day. Success comes to those who are constantly learning. Do not stop even when you achieve a “good job”. Keep on going, keep on improving your skills. Consider each of your goals and think about what you can do to improve. Think about how you can achieve your goals efficiently and successfully. Success is a long thorny path full of mistakes and obstacles, constant hard work and persistence will get you through, along the way you may get caught up in the thorns and get stuck (failure, bankruptcy) but in the end, when you get through and succeed, it is always worth of it.

Make Each New Day Significant

Every morning dedicate a few minutes to thinking about yesterday, How yesterday has impacted today, what would you like to do today, and what are some of the important things you have to do today. How will today differ from any other ordinary boring day? Plan something and complete it, it will bring you pleasure and will make you proud. Set a goal you need to accomplish during the day. Unsuccessful and unhappy people often have a feeling that their days are all alike, that’s because they never set any goals in the morning. All people have the same hours in the day, but not every one has the same goals for the day. So you need to plan how will you spend your 24 hours. What separates the bosses from the regular joes is not the number of hours in the day but how he spends his hours in his day. Try engaging in activities that will be beneficial to you in the long run. Activities that will bring you pleasure, and happiness. You need to try doing activities that will make the day memorable. What will you do today to make your tomorrow better? Try living a life filled with many memorable moments. Try your best to make each day extraordinary. That will significantly increase your probability for success.

Be Positive

A Positive attitude is as a result of a balanced planned life, lots of sleep, supported by a daily willingness to improve ones’ self(see the first two tips). You are a kind and hardworking person. You are independent and reliable. Be sure to control your own future.
Protect yourself from those people who bring only negative emotions and thoughts into your life. You can not even begin to imagine how much influence their words have on you at a subconscious level. Stay away from negative person. For  they are a vexation to the spirit. Do not gossip and do not discuss other people, believe me, it will not bring you any success.
Be more optimistic. Optimism is a wonderful feeling. Optimism supports strength of will, helps overcome failures and pushes for success. Optimistic energy will attract new interesting people.

Hard Work is The Key To Prosperity

A truly successful person works hard, even when everyone else is sleeping, a successful person will be up working hard. Always keep that in mind. Also, always try to ensure that you practice good time management and spend long hours working daily. It is said that good luck comes to those who are working hard and diligently. From time to time, work seems like too much and a burden. You often don’t feel encouraged to work or participate even. You feel like what you are doing is not prosperous to you and is probably just a waste of energy. But do not give up. Do not look for  the easy way out and do not fool yourself. Enjoy the joy you feel once completing your work. Those who work hard, generally never end up hungry or depressed. They are often rewarded handsomely for their endeavors.
I hope that my tips above on how to succeed have helped. I hope you have now learnt the steps to success. Keep them in mind as you go about your day to day activities, for they are the foundations to success. If you do practice my steps daily  you will be rewarded way more than you could ever imagine. Success is not easily attained or attained right away, but with hard work, constantly improving, a positive attitude, setting goals and making each day significant, you can achieve success!

Good Discipline

articles googleplus 13pinterest 21facebook 7twitter 16                   shop-online-button-300x279  Contact-me-button-3  HomeButton

Good discipline stems from childhood. It is the parents responsibility to ensure their child knows right from wrong. Not so? I mean common, we’re talking toddlers here. Lets imagine for a minute you had the cutest most adorable infant a mother could ask for, most adorable smile ever, sweet and lovable, wouldn’t you want them to develop to be the most well rounded, mannerly individual? This wasn’t case for everyone. Along my ventures I met a couple, with the most angelic looking little girl ever! Now at first glance she looked as angelic as Jojo,  with a mischievous grin. She was the most perfect height a little girl could be. She was white right and she had the sweetest smile, and her teeth were all perfectly aligned and her clothes were well prim and proper, but there was one thing primarily wrong with this child, she had no manners and discipline! Now I’m a guy that can tolerate a good bit, alright, and an attention seeking, tantrum throwing child, occasionally, is not a problem, but you see when that tantrum throwing child is continuously misbehaving, thats when you know you are gonna be in alot of problems. That’s when I safely say you have failed in your parental duties. Common I’m sure many of you know what I am talking about. You guys know how annoying that can be at times, and at other times it can be not so bad actually. Well this time it was horrific! Let me tell you, she would cause massive interruptions, she would act up if she didn’t get the meal she required, she would even throw things at her parents. At this point i was utter perplexed and pissed off. Children do those things?, was my initial question, at a dinner?! That was poor discipline. My god, the child could not even have the decency to conduct herself and let us have a good meeting. What would you do? Would you just allow your child to be throwing things at you? All I could think was had her parents not neglected the child, she would not be getting on so. I immediately proceeded to question the parents about the child’s sudden behavior, and they responded with a hasty, I don’t know, with an unconcerned look about them, both at the same time as if it were rehearsed.

I have never in all my life experienced a dinner such like that ever in my life. I know I never behaved so badly in-front of my parents as a child, let me tell you. That sort of behavior, is repugnant behavior and it for one would not have been allowed at my house, in public or not, it did not matter! How hard is it to teach a child good discipline, really? It shouldn’t be that hard. I recently discovered thirteen simple ways of teaching your child effectively good discipline, and that couple did not use one way that night. After considerable deliberation, I came to the conclusion that probably the parents themselves, don’t know the meaning of good discipline or did not receive any discipline as a child. Thats why i took the liberty of looking it up. According to the Merriam Webster’s Learner’s Dictionary:

1 discipline /ˈdɪsəplən/  noun

plural disciplines

Learner’s definition of DISCIPLINE

[noncount]

: control that is gained by requiring that rules or orders be obeyed and punishing bad behavior

: a way of behaving that shows a willingness to obey rules or orders

: behavior that is judged by how well it follows a set of rules or orders

: punishment for bad behavior

This little girl didn’t behave like she was willing to follow, any rules or laws set by anyone. She was her own boss, and behaved like it to. This should be the prime focus of every parent out there, ensure their child knows good discipline. What is going on with society today? Children allowed to throw things now?. That is deplorable. A well behaved, disciplined child is such a refreshing change and a joy to be around. They are as pleasant as they look. That is unbelievably great. I could spend hours having fun with a the child with ease and not having to complain once.

What ever happened to the good old fashioned way of discipline? Was that deemed unfit. In any case, this sort of thing cannot continue. Children must be dealt with immediately when this behavior persists. Discipline is the foundation of any society, and for civilization as we know it to prosper and thrive certain codes of conduct must be taught and followed.

Will Power

articles googleplus 13pinterest 21facebook 7twitter 16                 shop-online-button-300x279  Contact-me-button-3  HomeButton

Let me first begin by educating you on the definition of will power.

This is the mental drive and determination that allows you to succeed or master one’s self” Yannick Theodore.

According to my definition, will power is the determination to succeed. The determination to achieve what was once thought unachievable. To leap the walls of limitation, and produce something no one else can. To master one’s self and life choices.

If you google “will power” online you are sure to find a large number of sites, providing various different definitions, for those two simple words. According to the oxford dictionary online:

 NOUN

Other definitions include:

will·pow·er

 noun \ˈwil-ˌpa(-ə)r\

: the ability to control yourself : strong determination that allows you to do something difficult (such as to lose weight or quit smoking)”

Taken from the Marriam Webster dictionary. In other words, will power is the mental driving force that helps you get out of bed on a morning, will power is what motivates you, stimulates you and causes you to feel that deep desire to win, and dominate. Where can we say this drive originates from? Is it something that is taught? Can you sit down in a classroom and learn how to have some will power to achieve? Unfortunately you cannot! If that were the case, I most certainly would graciously spend the required amount to get that concept drilled into my lifestyle. I believe will power is an innate mentality, man possess in order to assist them to move forward in life. The question is, Is it only man who possess such innate abilities? Do, women have as much will power as men? or do they even have any will power at all? for that matter. Do women possess that strength of will to achieve under any circumstance as men? Some feminists believe strongly that power in society is unequally balanced towards men. This unequal balance is what ignites their desire to achieve more than what’s expected. Is this a sign that women may have more will power than men? In order to obtain equality to men, it takes a lot of scheming and determination, which women have showcased over hundreds of years. Is it enough to say though, that women possess more will power than men? Men over the years have showcased lots of will power as well, leading endeavors to establish and maintain a civilized society. Building a civilization from the ground up, with no laws, regulations, bills, or expected ways of behavior, is not an easy task. This takes alot of WILL POWER. If you compare building a society to attaining equality, you will slowly realize the answer to the afore-mentioned question. Can you imagine, men much like me and you, built a scoiety from the ground up, with nothing but our bare hands, a vision of a better more modern future and will power to achieve it! What a task! You think if we had asked a woman to assist us we would achieved such task? My guess is half of you guys would refrain from answering, out of a respect for women (I call that fear) and the other half would give an astounding NO, never in their life right! I agree this one time. Think about it. Man posses so much will to live better, eat better, work better, that he has created the most amazing system of living unimaginable in all the known galaxies! This system is so incredible, that in this century, the 21st century, it is now possible for everyone to own their own business, in any field imaginable to you! Right now you can just sit there, close your eyes, imagine the business you want to start, jump on your laptop and search the web, and out there, is  the answer, guaranteed, no questions about it. All as a result of one’s will power to create a better world. Now its even possible to speed to work even quicker in one of your new corvettes and get there before the morning briefing meeting, where as you would have had to gallop to work on a morning. All as a result of one’s will power to achieve and attain new heights. Everything is possible now as a result of one man’s will power to live better, yet still you hear about men and women living in poverty, or family houses seized by bankrupted families, as a result of lack of will power.  Thats the problem with society today, the lack of will power! Things just aren’t the same as before. Now women wake up and don’t even want to go to work anymore. They don’t feel like it they complain. Don’t feel like it, did she not just hear herself, ” You did not feel like going to work!” What she needs to feel like doing is getting her butt up and getting ready for work. In the old days, work was a breath pattern. The same way you wake up and yawn and stretch, is the same way you would wake up and promptly get ready to go to work. No lie. Thats how its was. Now women can just not feel like going to work and just not go! Oh how things have changed! The will to work has been sucked out of the women of the society today. Some guys even worst, actually consider just sitting around on the block whole day, hustling in various ways as a suitable means of attaining mass wealth. Yeah, it’s true,  the amount of will power some men have now is minimal to average. Its even more appalling to know some don’t just consider it, some finally choose to do it! Yeah I know bad decision most of you are saying, but hey I have traveled around the globe and I have come across many individuals who choose this career pattern. Do people not will themselves to get a better job anymore? Guess not, the society we live in today, it’s acceptable to work as anything now, just as long as no laws are being violated. How amazing is that! What is to become of the future. If no one has the will power to do anything anymore. Inventing ceased and we were forced to live a stagnant life. Think about it! This has me realize that will power is vital to mental and physical development. Without the will to better yourself, life has a way of slipping through your fingers. To those of you who were ever searching for an answer, assisting you in staying focused and following through with your new years resolution, the answer is will power. The determination to fulfill your resolution will get you through.
